Five Nights and Going Well

Post by Highway1 » Mon Jul 25, 2011 11:00 pm

Thanks so much to the people of this forum. I have really learned a lot reading the posts and I appreciate the encouraging responses I got to my first post. I got my machine last Thursday and so far things are going great. I do have a slight pressure sore on the bridge of my nose from over-tightening the head straps but now that they are looser it is getting better. The hardest part seems to be fitting and adjusting the mask. It is fitting quite comfortably now and no leaks that I am aware of. The first night was a little bit difficult because it was all so new. Since then however, I have been able to sleep well and my day time sleepiness has decreased sharply. My AHI is at 10.2 but that is a lot better than the sleep studies. I am hoping that my numbers will continue to go down as I continue the therapy. I know not everyone has the same experience and I am hoping that my success so far will encourage some other folks who are just starting out. Thanks again for all of the great advice and support here.

Warm regards,
Rob

Do you have the software to see what is going on or are you just looking at the averages on the LED screen?

For software options if you were not aware of them..viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64906&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... re+options

Awesome to hear, Highway! I'm new to this myself, and just finished my 3rd night on the machine. Last night didn't go so hot (5.04, woke up leaking more than once), but it's nice to see some big, hour long stretches without any incidents at all.

Keep the faith!

My first few nights were much the same, with horrible leaks, and AHI numbers that were not all that great. However, now over three months in, I'm keeping the numbers below 5 and sleeping through the night, so it does get better.

I second Pugsy's advice, grabbing software to review your nights is not a bad idea, as you can use it to see more detail about leaks you may not notice and periods of the night that are better or worse than others.

Just realized machine shown is the latest ASV model. SleepyHead is being adjusted for the latest ASV machine.
Don't think Onkor will work.
Encore Viewer and Encore Pro 2.4 won't work.
Encore Pro 2.5 is needed.
