Greetings fellow sufferers

I'm not sure you have a legal right to dispute the credit card charge unless there's some way in which the machine is "defective" in the sense that it doesn't do what it's specified to. Just saying, "Oh, I really should have gotten more information before I bought that particular item," may not cut it.

$1200 for machine, humidifier, hose and mask is not really that high for a local DME. Lots of people have gotten taken for a LOT more.

Anyway, use it. You'll probably benefit greatly from the CPAP. Apart from the lack of data, it's a good machine.

Honestly speaking I have not seen any one greetings others on the Forum in this way.Really different from other but its good.Some time Life do needs surprises...

Talked to the DME today and they said they would swap out my PR1plus for the PR1 auto with a-flex. They didn't have one on hand so they were going to order it and should arrive by the end of next week. They also swapped out my swift LT for a Swift FX. I was having leakage issues with the LT and the FX seems to fit me much better.

Wish I had found this site before I got my machine, My lousy insurance won't cover any on a machine so I payed dearly out of pocket to get the one I have.

The lab manager of my sleep lab basically said the same thing about DME's during my most recent sleep study...I HAVE HAD terrible experiences with 3 DME's. Now I'm just plain frustrated, sad, unhappy and irritable because of it all. My lack of faith and trust in DME's have made me nontrusting and cynical over the past couple of months. Praying that I will change over time. (((SIGH)))

Geez, too many people are having success with DMEs lately. Something bad's probably going to happen. Maybe the apnea ninjas will be sent in to silence us.

Last night with my new Swift FX was the best night out of the 8 nights I have been using CPAP. AFAIK no leaks
Now if I can keep the occasional air from leaking from my mouth... Already Using a chin strap any ideas?

Tape or polygrip for a while and hope that your body learns to keep mouth shut. It does for some people. I am one of them.

Also watch the actual leak rate in software to see for sure just how bad a mouth leak really is. How big of a leak? Short lived? or Long lasting? If it isn't huge for a long time...it may not be hurting things too much. It may just get better with time and experience.

Exterminator, you're doing good, and it sounds like you've found a good DME who is trying to help you.

For the mouth leaks, here are a lot of ideas. (I use tape.)

Just picked up a copy of my prescription. Under Diagnoses it says Obstructive Sleep Apnea and also Hypersomnia with Sleep Apnea.
My youngest said he heard me snore last night. Can't confirm this since My Wife is out of town. Also have a red and sore nostril after wearing the Swift FX. Maybe I have it too tight?
The prescription also says comfort setting of 2 and the DME has it set at 3.

Likely have it too tight. Probably the top strap with the little groves. It should not be so snug as to turn the nose upward (piggy nose). Loosen the top strap one or two notches. It does not have to be tight to seal. I hand put my hand easily under the top strap and I routinely have minimal to zero leaks.

Lansinoh ointment can help with tenderness. Used by breast feeding moms to combat nipple soreness. Found in the baby section of Walmart and most pharmacies.

Comfort setting is entirely up to you. If you are comfortable then fine, if not then you can adjust it. Strictly individual personal preference.
