cpap use after transphenoidal surgery

Post by boomrats » Mon Jul 18, 2011 3:59 pm

I had a tumor removed from my pituitary gland . They went thru the nose and they made hole in my sinus to reach the tumor site. They said not to use cpap for 6 weeks until I return for MRI and checkup. I am not sleeping well without my cpap, does anyone have any input on this. cpap is set on 12.

You don't have too many options if you can not use your CPAP. Try sleeping in a recliner or prop yourself up on several pillows in bed.

HiYa,

Had the same surgery on 30 june 2010. Sleep doctor got me O2 to sleep with. I slept very lil in bed. I had a lil better luck
in a recliner chair. I made it about 10 - 14 days before going back to sleep doctor, not the doctor doing the surgery and was
told I could go back to Cpap. I am at 13 - 15 APAP.

I had the sleep doctor working with the neuro-surgeon during the whole time. The sleep doctor made visits the
three days I was in the hospital.

Now a year later I am fine. It surgery did affect my taste buds for a while. I still find things i use to like tasting funny

Good Luck.
