I know that this is an old thread but I wanted to thank everyone involved who created this thread for giving me better insight - especially you datara. Also to say that it is unfortunate but clinicalsleep.com no longer has reasonable prices based on what I have seen. cpap.com looks like my home for now for reasonable and professional care for my sleep apnea needs. I picked up an ICON Auto for $600 CDN which included the heated hose which sells for $1200 CDN on clinicalsleep.

Thank you all for creating such a great atmosphere here and look forward to contributing any way I can!

I, too, just came across this post and read with interest. 3 years ago, my sleep doctor handed me my prescription along with a printed form with a list of (if memory serves) 4 or 5 different suppliers that I could pick and choose from. The one that I did choose seemed competent enough and I walked out with an S9 Elite and a Swift FX mask, which I had a leakage problem with. I went back for an adjustment on the pillows and they provided me with another size that fit better and all was good - until curiosity got the better of me and I went online to see some mask prices. As stated, these suppliers charge through the nose for 'support' and I have not been back since. I did find an online supplier Canadacpapsupply.com which is kind of misleading as they are are based in Florida, but their service and prices are very good (free shipping at random times) and there were no customs fees the 2 times I used them (I bought a Hurricane dryer).

So now to the question that a point in this thread touched on. So the gov't paid for most of my S9 when I got it 3 years ago.
I am in Ontario and, even though we have the Assistive Devices Program, which gives some help with the first machine and any new one after 5 years IF you can get a recent prescription.
How does this work?
