The Resmed masks like my Activa LT have some ports where you can plug in oxygen lines and whatnot if required. They come with a soft plastic cap designed to plug those holes if you are not using oxygen. If that port cap were to fall off, you would loose a significant portion of your air pressure through the holes, but perhaps not quite enough to actually notice.
I have had issues in the past where my air hose has developed cracks and leaks, both times it has happened were right near the part that plugs into the cpap machine. In both cases I didn't identify the problem for an undetermined amount of time. That has made me a bit paranoid about checking my hose for leaks. That paranoia will now extend to checking the port caps to make sure they are sealed.
I have been checking my hoses extra carefully for the past few weeks because I wasn't feeling like I was getting enough pressure. The hoses were fine and the machine was claiming to output the correct pressure so I just assumed I mistaken or that perhaps my machine might be getting old. Last night I finally figured out the issue.
I discovered that my post cap was missing. It is a small rubber item that kind of look like nose plugs, but with it missing my mask wasn't nearly pressurized enough. I could not find the missing cap and going to sleep knowing the cap was missing wasn't really an option. I eventually found some wooden toothpicks that would plug the hole but end up thick enough to leave some outside the hole too. I cut them down so they wouldn't have too much inside the mask or outside the mask and jammed them in there good till I can get a replacement cap. It worked really well and I not only had my pressure back but woke up this morning feeling more refreshed than usual.
I think the thing I hate most about this is that I have no idea how long it was missing and how long I was getting defective cpap treatment. I sensed something was off but couldn't put my finger on it and now wish I had been more on the ball and not so into my daily grind. I guess my advice is to check your hoses AND your port caps.

try white eraser cut down and jammed in the hole..with a little glue you should be good. The other option would be to super glue those caps on since you never use them.

Re: Ugh! Resmed 'ports cap' mask issues.
I thought about epoxy or superglue, but I was pretty tired at the time and didn't want to figure out how long I would need to wait for the fumes to not be an issue. I have actually really liked the toothpick solution so far, they are in there very securely and don't stick out on the inside. On the outside, there is just enough of a nub to grab if I really wanted to pull them out. I might just leave them in and call it solved.
