I have some ideas that I learnt here that have helped me but I am reluctant to share them until I know what machine and mask you are using.CREATIVITY658 wrote:I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES YOU ARE

Cardio raises your core temperature - which will prevent sound sleep for at least 4 hours after the the heart beat reduces to 100. You will never sleep very well after a cardio work out.mrstevegross wrote:Hi folks. Every few months or so, my sleep pattern seems to evolve and change. Of late, here's my ritual:
In bed around midnight, sleep solidly till 3-4am with CPAP.
Awaken, switch to couch, sleep solidly till 6-7am (no CPAP).
Awaken, do 30 minutes cardio workout.
Back in bed, sleep not-so-solidly till 9am (no CPAP).
Nap post work, 5:30-6pm.
The net result is that my workday is manageable, though not great. Still pretty tired overall, but I'm doing ok. The post-work nap is very effective, and really resets the body clock and energy level effectively.
I can't quite figure out why I awaken consistently at 3-4am. As far as I can tell, the CPAP is comfy and effective, the environment is very sleep-conducive, and my stress level hasn't changed significantly. Any ideas on why I can't seem to get more than 3.5 hours of consolidated sleep?
Thanks folks!

I have a little plastic storage container with three drawers and wheels. . .if I go to sleep on the couch - it goes into the living-room with me. I bought it at kmart for 10 bucks. It truly does not take much effort to unplug the machine, roll it in the living-room and plug it back in by the couch.
May I ask why you go to sleep on the couch? Or why you leave your bed? Seems there is some information here that has been left out that would really make a difference in what you can actually change an what you can't.
I found a long time ago that if I take a nap at all during the day -but especially after 3pm, I will always wake up at 3am. No ifs no ands, no buts about it. Different people have different speeds - but I have seen the same thing in my husband who is a consummate napper - he's always awake around 3 going to the bathroom and bumping around until he can finally go back to sleep.
It sounds to me like you are allowing your body to control your sleeping habits. . .perhaps you will do better if you got proactive, learned about sleep and started taking action to control your body?

Why not?mrstevegross wrote:>PUT THE FRIGGIN' MASK ON!!! (Anytime you're going to be sleeping.)
Yes, but... If I'm on the couch, I can't take the CPAP with me. I can try adding it in for the 8-9am portion, though.
