Back breaking cough! I can beat that, I use to get going so bad coughing with Lispinopril that I would get into a reverse parastaltis mode (throw up). Was on it for a few months before I connected the drug with the side affects. Acid Reflux is a possibility as you may not have any stomach symptons.

Sleep therapy changed my life for the better, never knew how bad it was before I got hooked to "the machine".

I had the zestril/lisinopril cough. I asked my doctor about it for a while. He denied up and down that it was the cause of my cough, despite it being one of the possible side effects listed. I finally stopped taking it for a few days. (My blood pressure wasn't that bad even without meds.) The cough went away. I started again, but I told him we were changing my meds. He reluctantly changed it. My cough mysteriously went away.

A few years later, he said that he didn't prescribe Zestril any more because too many of his patients had coughs if they used it.

My dad had a nasty cough, too. I asked him if he was taking zestril. He said "yes." I told him to make his doctor change meds for him. His cough went away.
