Weight Loss Club - Friday Check-in
Well, it's time to check in on our progress for this week.
I'll kick it off - unfortunately, this has been a crazy week at work and since I've been spending 15 - 16 hour days, the exercise only happened one day this week. Although, helping out in the warehouse here was at least some exercise for me, as usually I'm at a desk all day.
So, I'm still at 198 - but I have started to watch my diet more - we're eating more veggies and fruit. So, I'm hopeful with a more "normal" week I'll be able to make some progress.
The good news is - obviously the CPAP is helping me, as there's NO WAY pre-CPAP I could have worked the hours I have and not crashed on the way home. YAY for CPAP!!!!!
Hope everyone has had a great week - SMILE - IT'S FRIDAY

Lost 2 pounds - was hoping for more, but I'll take it!
After 50, it is true, it is harder to take off. I have done good this week with diet and exercise, other than yesterday (did none).
Been doing Weight Watchers points and cardio (running on my treadmill with incline and weights for 30 minutes). Trying to build up a minute more per day. Funny thing is I still feel tired. Maybe trying too much too soon. WW is a pain - like having 2 jobs trying to figure out points. I might go back on my old 40-30-30 plan that I used to be on and was never hungry.

I continued with the daily exercise, am REALLY trying to drink my water. I don't own a scale to see what the results have been. Frankly i don't want to know. I have a favorite pair of jeans that will be the judge. When I can get into them I know I hit stage one. Reminds me of a cartoon I once saw. The lady was on the scale with her cat sitting there watching her. She said "Oh look, Muffin, I'm almost down to where I thought I'd never get up to". Oh so true.
Determination, a love of life and a closet full of clothes that don't fit will continue to motivate me...........
Good luck this week and keep up the good thoughts!

Snoozie - GREAT JOB on losing 2 pounds!!!
You commented "wish it was more" - actually, 2 pounds is perfect! Safe, effective long-term weight loss should not be more than 1 - 2 pounds/week - so you're doing great! You're exercising and watching your diet, so just keep it up. Balance and portion control was the key for me when I lost my initial 30 - now I need to get back to it and add regular exercise to get the loss started again. If WW is too much work - do go back to your other plan. Could you explain the 40-30-30? You said you were never hungry, and my husband needs to work on his diet - he's borderline diabetic - and he's ALWAYS hungry. Maybe your plan would help me with his diet too.
That's a great exercise routine - I'm impressed! Every day - that's true dedication!
Way to go Snoozie - you're an inspiration to us all!
Bonnie - I loved the cat cartoon - so very true! My clothes are a good barometer for me as well - I have an outfit in the closet that when it fits, I'll know I've made it!!! It's green, so I'm figuring good for next Christmas - should be able to get there by then

Hello everyone,
Sounds like we are all off to a good start!!!!! Don't weigh in very much, still around 190. Exercised almost every day this week, eating sensibly (oh, ok chocolate is my weakness!!!). Don't do Weight Watchers or anything like that, sounds like too much work!!! I drink plenty of water and have two protein shakes a day with banana and flaxseed meal mixed in!!! This is good for BP, potassium, and keeping my colon in check!!! This isn't helping the weight go down, but I am building muscle (lifting weights). Loved the cartoon about the cat!!! I have about 4 different sizes now for jeans, can relate, there's nothing like being able to fit into those favorite jeans again!! I'm loving it!!!! Keep the faith, we're all in this together!!!! Have a great day!!!!!!

Just noticed this topic...how does it work?
Guess I could go "weigh in" on my scales...right? Ugh!! 200 something. I'm 62 (actually 63 next month). It would be great if this CPAP thing helps me with the weight. I'm trying to get my husband to see if he can fix my treadmill. I can start using it (hopefully) after my orthoscopic surgery on my right knee Feb 3rd.

Well, I've lost somewhere between 3 and 6 pounds (my weight fluctuates a LOT, lol). I really think I could count it as a loss of 4 overall. I've not exercised much at all...just played tennis about 3 times (which my personal trainer says doesn't count as exercise since my body is used to me doing it). Oh, and I missed my appointment with the trainer...
But I've been following Weight Watchers quite well. That's actually the best news of all. My mind isn't fighting it, you know what I mean? My brain is cooperating for once! I'm eating quite a few Lean Cuisines and WW Smart Ones. Found a good corn chip that is only 1 point for an ounce..so I'm good with chips and salsa for a snack. I eat fast food quite a bit, but I'm ordering only the items that I know the Point Value for. Eating more fruits and veggies...I'm on the right track.
Now if I can just get myself to add in the exercise I need.....

weight loss- New to using CPAP
[color=olive I just began using Cpap on Jan19 2006. My pressure is 8cm, I use a restar with heated humidifier, and the swift nasal pillows. One of the first recomendations by my doctor was to lose at least 10% of my current weight. I have never weighed this much in my life and this weight came on very quickly over the last 20 months. I am 260 lbs and am only 5' so I am anxious for any suggestions from those of you that are trying to conquer the beast. I will try to lean cuise frozen dinners to help with portion control. Tomorrow I go back to the gym to use the treadmill. I am just take it a day at a time, and hopefully I can get some success. Thanks for letting me share Liz [/list]
