Just to clarify, Mike's suggestion isn't to right-click and Run as Administrator ... he gave instructions to modify the shortcut so it always runs as administrator without having to right-click it each time.
In the end I think his instructions accomplish the same thing as yours does...
PR S1 software options..Warning a Novel..

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Ahh, I see says the blind man...no matter...yes it does the same thing but then I would have to tell people how to modify a shortcut... I just skimmed over what Mike said...I am going 90 mph this morning.khauser wrote:Just to clarify, Mike's suggestion isn't to right-click and Run as Administrator ... he gave instructions to modify the shortcut so it always runs as administrator without having to right-click it each time.
Must have had an awesome night last night...haven't even had time to go check the data.
I think I will try the KISS thing...stick to the most common basics...those people who are already computer savvy can figure it out.
Mainly I am targeting newbies who are also newbies with some of the computer stuff.
You know the ones who mainly only know how to turn the computer on and go check email.
So a lot of my instructions are going to be very basic entry level stuff.

Re: PR S1 software options..Warning a Novel..
Any tips for removing the SD card or reading it from EncoreBasic? EncoreBasic keeps saying:
When I inserted the card back into the PR S1 (unlocked), the screen showed SD card activity for a few seconds. Then I waited, ejected the card (at which point the screen told me the card was removed) and tried again. Same result.
The data does seem small: 390K for a night's worth of data?
Is that because the media doesn't belong to an EncoreBasic patient? (It has no assigned patient name or ID.) Or because I write-locked the SD card before inserting it into my computer?Media read successfully - The card data is not valid and was not saved. Contact Product Support for assistance.

You aren't the first person to have that message pop up but it has been a very rare happening.sawinglogz wrote:Any tips for removing the SD card or reading it from EncoreBasic? EncoreBasic keeps saying:

I do not know what or why that message comes up. It has been talked about here on the forum in the past but I don't remember if anyone has ever mentioned getting the issue resolved.
Assigning the SD card contents to a patient is not a critical. Normally the first download also makes it then "assigned" but you can assign it from the menu in EB.
Write protect shouldn't make any difference either. I have never bothered to write protect my SD card because Basic doesn't do anything but read the card anyway unless you are using the software to make changes to the settings.
So it really shouldn't matter either way.
I have been all through the Help section trying to figure out why that message happens and I just have never found an answer.
Maybe start a new thread with your problem and see if the computer gurus here have any ideas.

The separate thread was created here.
Short version: this problem is due to my machine being too new for last year's Encore Pro and Basic.
