Exhaling with CPAP
Re: Exhaling with CPAP
I've definitely been there! The folks on this forum have heard me go nuts when I just could NOT get leaks under control. With some great advice and some time, it got better. All I can say is to stay with it. Within a few weeks, you'll have more good nights than bad, and eventually barely any bad nights at all.

It does get better! I've been on CPAP for almost 4 months now and am finally starting to feel more "normal". Was thrilled to bits this AM to see my AHI overnight was 0.1! WOOT!

Unless the DME intentionally locks you out of EPR, you can change your EPR setting by simply clicking the setup button - that's the bottom one with the checkmarks on it. EPR is a user comfort feature.
The setup button is also where you change the mask setting to conform to the type of maks you're using. That's important because it makes the leak report more reliable: FFMs have higher vent "leaks" than do nasal pillows maks.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Re: Exhaling with CPAP
My chest was so sore after the first few nights.
I had not breathed so deeply in years.
I now find myself making adjustments while barely awake.
It gets easier and easier.
