Mask Fit Problem Solution

Post by archangle » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:11 pm

For years, I've noticed that sometimes my mask fits well, sometimes it doesn't. Even without me making any adjustment of the strap tightness, it would go from no leaks to leaking.

I think I finally figured something out. I have a Respironics ComfortGel mask and headgear. Sometimes, the headgear "rides up" and isn't really properly seated, and it gets loose. Pulling it back down makes the mask fit better again.

Yes, I know. DUHHHH.... Well, I'm sleepy when it happens. If I'm sufficiently disturbed to wake up fully, I usually remove the mask and take a rest room break while I'm awake. I think it's been going on for years before I figured it out.

Something to keep in mind if you're having occasional mask leak problems.
