I am a new CPAP user and find that it causes me to become very bloated in the middle of the night. It gives me a stomach ache and causes me to belch and have very noisy gas. Any suggestions?
belching and flatulation
Some questions ...
1) What cms setting
2) What type of mask / masks
3) Are you on straight CPAP ?
Re aerophagia, this can be very disconcerting as you well know. I was plagued with it until I switched to a BiLevel at 15/8 cms Ipap/Epap. Then my breathing out became so easy & the aerphagia went away - gone !.
This may work for you - can you get to try a BiLevel ?
Cheers dsm

Safta V,
There are lots of good suggestions on this forum. My DME told me to try and sleep on a foam wedge. I have a windy pressure of 16 (originally 14) and found after about 2 months this problem went away. Apparently I got more used to it and stopped having to swallow the air.
Hope this gets alleviated for you soon. I hated waking up in the morning with a sore or painful tummy.
