I'm forced by my insurance to use the only DME in town. I took them my Respironics machine to them in early February. After 6 weeks+, I asked what the status was. The rep indicated she had not submitted it correctly and things were back on track. My insurance company has heard nothing about their approval of repairs or replacement. What time frame have others experienced with Respironics repair??
Thanks all!!

Re: Repair time on Respironics
About a month. In September of 2006, I sent in my original machine for a warranty repair before it ran out (it had a "wheeze" in the C-Flex function) and it was back a month later (almost to the day).kwikwater wrote:I'm forced by my insurance to use the only DME in town. On the other hand, I was using CPAP dot COM as my DME.
I disagree that you could actually be "forced" to use a local DME. I guess that's what you get for that extra money you pay to them.......?

Re: Repair time on Respironics
Hi,
I had a PR System One BiPAP Auto that I sent in through my local DME for Repairs (date and time would constantly reset and had non-sense values--Thus no possibility of even compliance data). It took exactly one week (7 days) from the day that I turned it in until I received my replacement unit.
Cheers

Re: Repair time on Respironics
Hi Kwikwater:
I had a similar one week turn-around to one of your other replies.
After dropping the machine at my DME, I sent a letter to the Respironics repair facility that handles repairs for the south east explaining in detail exactly what was wrong and what needed to be repaired. I included the serial number of the machine and the name of the DME who would be sending the machine in.
That said, the repair facility for Respironics in Colorado is found using this URL.
http://www.superpages.com/bp/Denver-CO/ ... 571875.htm
You can try calling them direct and asking to speak to the patient representative to get a status of your repairs.
The representative I spoke to was very helpful in finding about my machine ( she indicated that it had been sent out the day before for delivery the next day ). The local DME did not call to tell me the machine was in but was able to find it when I called them. I've had a running battle with this particular DME so I didn't expect a call soon as I had been informed that the "normal" turn-around was 5 to 6 weeks.
Respironics indicates that they try for a 5 day from receipt to shipping.
