*gag*

I use Dawn dishwashing liquid.

A question about white vinegar....you just pour it on the mask and rub? Or do you "water" it down?
Barb,

One of the best things about using the vinegar is, you dream about eating a salad and wake up full (it really is a yummy smell).

Hmmm the way I read it Stop snoring sleep apnea chinstrap I didnt take it in a misleading way, I was given a chinstrap with my CPAP maybe for ppl who arent familar with CPAP would take it in a different way but I took it as it would be used with the CPAP to keep you from mouth breathing which would then keep you from snoring? Right? Hmmm, maybe I am reading it wrong? or maybe I am too tired to be analyzing this...

Anyhow, Lori thanks for sharing that with us...and I hope to try the Activa tonight

I have found a cleaner that works great. I have used vinegar and water because that is what my therapist suggested, but I'm not aware that vinegar has any disinfectant properties. Besides, I think it smells bad. The cleaner I found was created by a MD who has to wear CPAP himself.

Cleaning Humidifier

Post by kimjs97 » Mon Jan 09, 2006 8:48 pm

Hi--I am new to this board. Happy to have found it. I am also a fairly new cpap user. But I need some help. I am finding that there are deposits on the bottom of my humidifier. IS there some way to get rid of these? They seem....eww....hardened on there.

Sorry if that is gross. Thanks!

Kim

Kim,

I bet that you are using tap water. The deposits are the minerals from the tap water. If you buy some distilled water you will not have this problem. You can clean the deposits with a vinegar/water solution and give it a fresh start with the new water.
