I got a nice backup power supply...I've gone 6+ hours a couple times on it running my CPAP....power was out when I started the night, but when power came back on before morning, it made a single beep that work me.

It also makes a single beep when it switches to battery. Which is kind of annoying....perhaps I'll poke around when it comes time to replace the batteries.

Unfortunately the product isn't made anymore, seems that since the company was acquired by Schneider Electric they have been focusing on their inverter line (probably leaving the UPS type stuff to the other company they own....APC)

Last year, I did spend some time looking at whole house UPS like products (since it doesn't look like I can get a generator installed in my apartment)....a guy in my office who uses cpap, got a generator for his place though.... so far there hasn't been a storm bad enough for me to lose power too long yet. Though other people have gone for a week without power....one just a few blocks from me (though fed by a different overhead system). Guess its good that my building is fed by underground cable....and the overhead line that its fed from is the one that feeds the hospital....

Wonder if they couldn't make a gas furnace that doubles as a gas generator or something.... think I'm going to have to have to look hard at replacing mine soon.

The Dreamer.
