Follow-up with sleep doc this morning
So, my sleep doctor is totally awesome. He was very pleased that I had the software for my machine and was keeping track of my progress. He confirmed that my clear airway events are indeed centrals, but thinks that they will get better as I adjust to the machine. He didn't mind that I had changed the c-flex setting. He gave me my full (50+ page) copy of both sleep studies when I asked for them. And he says that normally he sees patients for a follow-up in 6 months, but said he thinks it's fine to wait a year in my case because he thinks I'll let him know if I see any significant changes. Yay!

In my experience, that's the norm. I see my doc once a year to renew my "supplies 'script". I print an Encore report to take in and we go over any issues.
Frankly, I don't understand why anyone puts up with less, but apparently they do.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

Congrats on winning over the doc.
I had the same experience at my 6-month appointment. Initially the doc was skeptical, but after I showed him my data, he warmed up and ended up confiding to me that a big frustration in his practice is that patients don't take ownership of their therapy. He's one of those, die-hard "If God had intended patients to have variable pressure, He wouldn't have called it CPAP!" - kind of guys. But when I got an S9 Autoset (not the Elite that he wanted me to have) and showed him a stack of data, after leafing through it and looking at the 95% pressure, he was impressed that the machine closely matched the pressure I was titrated at in his lab.
I think sometimes education about CPAP therapy works both ways.
