Quattro FX FFM is great

Post by freshair » Sat May 07, 2011 3:15 pm

I just switched from a Mirage FFM and my therapy average hrs on this mask for 170 days was 7hrs 57mins--I adapted to it to where I would lust clip it on everynite w/o making any adjustments and go to sleep, BUT that forehead piece had to go and now I have used the Quattro FX FFM for 2 nites w/o any problems and it is much more comfortable plus it is half the weight of the Q-Mirage--FA

I had to cinch down the straps of my Quattro (not the FX) with a winch practically to get the leaks to go away. This
resulted with redness and dents in my face. Now using the Swift FX Nasal Pillow and with self titration, I'm down to
18/14 pressure. Much more comfortable and I absolutely love the nasal pillow. No clam shell clamped on my face anymore
and I don't look like an alien. My dog is no longer afraid of me and the wife is happier too!
Maybe if I had lower pressures like most people, I could tolerate the FFM?
If you like the Swift - the Mirage FX is AWESOME!!!! I couldn't get the swift to hold up to anything over 13-14..

Last March I switched to a Quattro FX after about 1500 days with the Mirage Ultra FFM. I have two indents from years with the forehead pads. I really like the FX and it is a much improved mask over the Ultra FFM. I am running at 13.4 and my leaks are between 0 and 3 l/min.

In addition to the comfort, the FX is so much quieter.

But... since I have a few Ultra FFM frames, I have decided to remove the forehead piece and and cut back some the frame where the forehead piece attaches and see if I can mod it to work without the support. It would be nice to take it on business trips with my old machine and be able to toss them in a suitcase. That way I can check them and not worry about someone stealing my good S9 and FX.

Hi, I´ve been on a Ultra Mirage FF mask for about four years, it works great on me, almost no leaks and great fit.
Last nite I broke it. I use small size on this mask, I would like to try the Quattro FX cause I´m tired of forehead pads.

Has anyone made the switch from the Ulta Mirage FF to the Quattro FX, I´m concerned about the size. I´m not able to get buying inssurance because I don´t live in USA.

Any help well be appreciated.

Best regards.

Gustavo.

I use the quatro FX. The large with the standard straps fit just right. My head is large and I'm 6' 2" and weigh 215.When you clean it make
sure using a black sharpee pen to mark the upper straps where they go through the plastic portion. Doing this I haven't had to make any other adjustments. Just put it on and take it off for over 2 months. Very minimal leaks depending on how sound I sleep that night.
Please use only the black sharpee pen the other colors run especially the red and orange.
