dry nasal passages

Post by a-emartin@att.net » Sat May 07, 2011 6:13 am

agmart I've been on a CPAP with humidifier for 7 months. As far as the Apnea goes, it's doing well - my AHI is down from 23 to 3.5. My problem is nasal dryness, especially just inside the the nostrils. It's like the tissue there is chapped and it's getting painful. Any Ideas?

Hi! Can you take a moment to register with the forum (New Users green guy up at the top of the page) and fill out your equipment profile? That will help us a ton in giving you suggestions that might help with the problem.

Are you using your humidifier? You may need to turn it up a tad. Most of us use Lansinoh to lubricate the nares, if you are REALLY dry, just stick a Q-tip in the tube of Lansinoh and swipe in inside your nose cavity. We usually just dab (small dab) on the outside and JUST inside of the nares, helps with rubbing and it actually makes the pillows sort of stick a heck of a lot better ---leaks are alot lower this way too.
