It appears I'm missing a part for my borrowed REMstar Auto (that's its full name.) I can't get the blower and humidifier to connect. Looks like there's a rubber or silicone ring between them that I don't have. Last night I used duct tape but that only worked for a few hours. Any other suggestions for ways to connect the two? I'm only using it until my new machine arrives so I am really just looking for some sort of temporary work-around.

Yes there is a gasket that seals between the two.
However, The hose should connect directly to the blower machine without the humidifier. Better than nothing. Give it a try.

It does work without the humidifier; I'm just being fussy. I've given it some more thought however, and I believe I am ready to let it go.

While I don't know what the gasket looks like, but you could try the gaskets that are inside the screw end of a garden hose. you could see if a used one fits and buy some new ones very cheaply at the hardware store.

Do you have an old hose you don't need. You can cut the rubber end off and should hook the two together if it the old model chamber which is the picture you are showing. It wont work on the new model, the hole in the chamber is to large and is designed to seal on the inside.

OK, In my previous posting of this issue I was wrong, you have a completely different machine than I have. If you have any DME close around, they might furnish said part to you for little or nothing. How far is it to your sleep clinic? They might have spare parts as well.

You can buy o-rings at home depot and any number of hardware and plumbing stores. If you can find out what the gasket is from a manual or the manufacturer it should not be difficult to replace. Perhaps they will even sell you one directly....

Gaskets and "O" rings wont work. Connector goes around the outside of both. A piece of rubber hose would work if you can find one the right size.
