New user!

Hello to all! I've been on cpap since April 4 - mild to moderate apnea. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones: the first night I had a little trouble sleeping since I wasn't used to anything on my face. After that I was good to go! I'm a mouth breather, and, knowing this, I ordered Russ McMillan's Ultimate Chin Strap a couple of weeks before I got the cpap machine. I was able to adjust to the chin strap after a few days. Then, thanks to this forum, I got the Swift FX nasal pillows and all the Pad-a-cheek "stuff" to go with them. I'm sleeping better than ever, but I still haven't gotten over being so tired in the afternoons. My pressure is set at 13.0; my AHI is low - 1.0 this morning; 0.2 yesterday morning! The median daily usage is 9.15. When I went through my titration, I had a rough, rough night. I didn't think I'd be able to do this. Once, however, I got everything set up at home, it has been a joy. I like having the air blowing in my nose! My wife says the noise of the machine is like ocean waves! I'm mostly a lurker here, but I do appreciate all the information that is available. You may not realize it, but you do help and give support to a lot of people who, like me, don't always reply! Thanks.

Congratulations on a starting off so well! You obviously are a quick study and know how to find answers to questions using the forum tools, search, etc. Once you are truly settled in and become a 'veteran' of sorts, please stop by from time to time and answer questions for newbies; offer advice to those who may use the same mask, machine, or accessories as you. We should all 'pay it forward' in whatever way we can. This forum has been such an incredible resource to so many folks..... it is the members who keep it going!
