Onkor 101

Post by Pugsy » Fri Apr 29, 2011 8:27 pm

I have composed some Onkor analyzer instructions that include step by tiny step. First draft probably a little rough but I am too tired to refine it at this moment.

Should someone wish to give it a try and want my instructions. Send me a PM and I will send them to you. I don't want to post the whole novel yet as I am sure I need to refine it.

Got some help from M.D.Hosehead since English composition was never my strong suit and he also added some Mac instructions. Many thanks to him for his contribution and refinement of my rough draft.

STEP 2: Navigate to the drive that has the SD Card on it. In my case it is F drive, yours may be a different letter drive.
Go to Computer or MyComputer whatever it is called on your computer.

Image

See where mine says F Drive Digital Storage Device? Double click on it to open the SD card.

Your will see P series folder.. Double click on that folder to open it.
Then you will see 3 choices. Another folder with number starting with P and a couple of text documents.
Double click on the folder with P and some numbers after it.
You will then see 2 folders and another text document.
Double click on the p0 folder to open it. (It may be p1, p2, etc. Every Jan 1 a new folder is started. This years' files will be in the highest numbered folder.)

Once that is open you will see a large number of files that look like this

Image

Files are grouped by date. Largest number is the most recent date.
See 000000052.001, 000000052.002, 000000052.005 is my 04/28 night report. It shows modified 04/29 because that is when the files were written to the SD card.
Onkor uses the *.001, *.002 and *.005 files from one night to generate a report. Can only do one night at a time as best I can figure out. Some nights will not have the *.005 files available for some reason. Onkor must have the *.005 to generate a report so no report available for nights with only the *.001 and *.002 file types.

STEP 2 (Mac): When you insert the SD card, it will appear on your desktop as a blank icon called, “NO NAME).

Image

I use FireFox browser exclusively. I never use IE but if you do and have trouble getting to Onkor site, you might try FireFox or Google Chrome. I think IE 9 is out now. New releases of IE have always been buggier than all get out. I wouldn't use it till they get the bugs out if I was an IE person.

STEP 3: Go to Onkor
http://www.onkor.net/
Enter something that begins with the letter P as a log in ID so that all your uploaded files stay in one folder for reviewing. You can use your machines P ID number or you can use any combination of letters and numbers, so long as it begins with P, and hope that someone else hasn't used the same.
Remember what you use, write it down and save it.
Once the ID is entered, click "Proceed"

STEP 4: Next screen,

Image

Click on Select Add files box.

STEP 5: Navigate back to the drive where those 001, 002 and 005 files are located. Highlight the 3 files with same beginning number. In my case we will use the 000052 files.
Highlight all 3 at one time. Hold down the Shift or Ctrl key, whichever works for you.
Image
Once all 3 files with same beginning number are highlighted, double click on "open" next to the file names. Double click activates the upload process.

STEP 5 (Mac): On a Mac, it looks like this when you are ready to click “Open.” Make sure the little triangles are pointing down to see all the files, and click the "Date Modified" box until the most recent dates are on top.

Image

You should then see the Queue become active. The .005 files take a few seconds, the others are quick.

When done it says "Complete, OK".

Image

STEP 6: Then you can click on the link where it says "browse your upload reports". First time there will be just one. Click on it and it takes a little while for everything to come up, just be patient. Report will open up and from there you see the graphs and on the right the AHI data, pressure, etc.
Follow onscreen directions if you want to zoom in on tighter time line.

I guess it is like anything with computers, some things work well, some things don't work worth a crap.
I prefer the software myself but I can see the advantage of using Onkor. I do like being able to zoom in on a time line that we can't do with the software. That is really all I miss with the software. I have been lucky with all the software versions I have used. No problems at all but I know some people do have software problems and at least this is a viable option for those that can't use the software, don't have the software yet, or whatever. Just kinda nice to have another option.

Wish we could do something like this for the M series and older machines. The smart card reader is so pricey and it would help a lot of people. Heck also the ResMed 8 series of machines. That card reader is also pricey and has to come from the other side of the world.

How do I remove the SD card from the machine? Didn't the DME rig it so I couldn't during the rental period?
Epworth Sleepiness Scale: 14
Diagnostic study: overall AHI: 0.2 events/hour; overall RDI: 45 events/hour
Titration study: AHI: 6.1; RDI: 27; CPAP pressures: 5-8cm

Not-tired behind my eyes and with a clear, cool head!

Not sure how someone could rig it to prevent removing the card unless there is something physically blocking the card.

See where the card is? Just push inward gently on the card, machine will beep and the card will "bounce" back just enough to get your fingers on it and slip it out.

There is no way for the DME to know if the card has briefly been out of the machine unless you forget to put it back in. Despite the little message that says "don't remove the card" it hurts nothing to look at the data. Now should a change be made, yeah, DME might see that but at this point you just want to look at reports.
