Today, Oprah had a special show featuring Bob Greene and his plan for looking and feeling 20 yrs younger One of the segments was devoted to sleep. You may find it interesting: http://www.oprah.com/oprahshow/Why-Sleep-Matters-Video
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Thanks. I think I dozed through that part, go figure, that was the part I wanted to see. I'll try to watch the link when I can get it to connect. AT&T DSL sucks.

I saw that. For the most part it was pretty good, but anyone from here is a tough audience. I was glad it turned out that of the two snorers tested, it turned out the smaller one was the only one diagnosed with sleep apnea. And glad that she sang cpap's praises about how much better she feels. Was good to see a youngish non-obese woman shatter the stereotypes and unashamedly talking about sleeping with cpap. Score one for the home team.

Yes, and I got a kick out of her response to Oprah's comment about how cpap wasn't the sexiest thing..... "Get your groove on first and then mask up!" On another thread today, I posted that on Facebook, I follow the Sleep Wellness Institute. Today they posted this: "Today's news: Singer Katy Perry reveals to Oprah that she has sleep apnea and uses CPAP. She says it is very successful for her." Katy Perry is also very young, slim, and because she is a singer...she has well developed neck, throat, and breathing muscles. Yet...she has OSA. Another great example of how this disorder can affect anyone of any age or size. On Sleep Wellness Institute's page, a mom posted that her 3 yr. old was just diagnosed with OSA and the equipment was being delivered. She was quite nervous about getting this to work for a toddler. So... there you have it.... any age or size or shape!
