I've been using cpap for about 3 years now. I had a rough spell several months ago, and discovered I had a leaking humidifier. I got a new one and have had a great sleep most nights. But I seem to be dreaming constantly! I know dreams aren't as long as they seem, but it does seem like I have a ton of them.
Is it possible to have too many dreams? (and that might interfere with sleep quality). Or is it always a good thing?
Thanks.

Re: Too much dreaming?
If you were't dreaming during your rough spell it's possible you're making up for lost REM time, just like we often have a sleep deficit at the beginning or a few months into CPAP and need to sleep longer than usual. If you feel ok I would not worry about the dreaming. Just hope thy are pleasant!

One thing to check is whether or not you're remembering dreams because you keep waking up in REM sleep. What's your AHI like? And do your traces show regular breathing through the night, or a lot of variation.

Re: Too much dreaming?
Thanks Mary and Otter,
I don't have the software. But I don't feel like I wake up alot.
My AHI has been around 6-8, sometimes a little higher. My leak rate is low. I have a fair amount of energy during the day, so that's what I usually go by.
Sometimes I can remember the dreams, but most of the time, I just remember tiny parts of it, and quickly forget it. But these days, I'm forgetting just about everything! I just never remember having dreamed so much. Its not a bad thing......I was just curious what it might mean.
The only dreams I really don't like are the ones where I'm dreaming of a working hard all night.......they seem to last forever and really wear me out. haha
