If you do not mind me asking, what other masks have you tried? I have tried the Comfort Gel and now use the Activa LT.

Okay my verdict is in.

I'm reluctantly going to send the mask back. I really like the mask but am not managing to pull more than a couple of hours in it without it starting to bug me -- itching and such. Overall I think the mask itself is definitely a winner. I think if you are using a standard nasal mask that this is definitely worth trying. It seals really well, it's really easy to care for, the headgear is really comfortable. It's just, for me, this mask (and for that matter most of the "standard" type masks) make the outside of my nose itch and sometimes burn -- to the point of it being uncomfortable enough to compromise sleep. I've tried several more nights in the FX and usually go about 2 hours and then back into the Sleepweaver. So, bottom line for me -- I'm staying with the Sleepweaver and we'll see if its durability is such that it'll last the 3 months between mask replacements my insurance will do. If the durability doesn't pan out then perhaps I'll look back towards this mask and a liner of some sort but right now with AHI running in the 0.3-1.0 range and leaks well under control the SW is going to be my mask of choice. By the way, several of the hours I spent in the FX were totally and completely event free and the one night I managed all night in it I ran a 1.2 so it does work well from that respect.

Folks, if you are using a nasal mask, IMHO, you need to take a look at this mask.
For reference I've used both an Activa LT and a Mirage Softgel and, again IMHO, this mask is hands down a better mask.

I have been using this mask for 3 nights, and so far so good. Its comfortable, (normally I need a liner with any mask that touches my face). It is so small, light and doesn't move when I move. It worked out well on my side, stomach and back. I had very minimal tiny red marks on forehead, even though I didn't feel it as being uncomfortable. For some reason I have been able to keep my mouth closed while wearing this mask. I usually have to tape.

Thanks for the insight as I use the Activa LT right now and will give the Mirage FX a try when it is time to order my next mask. Quick question, what size Activa LT do you use? I use a large and I noticed the Mirage FX only has standard and wide so I was not sure which size to get.

I used a medium Activa and the standard FX. I'm guessing you'll likely want to try the Wide FX -- the thing is pretty small -- the standard fit and covered much less of my nose than the medium Activa.

Quick question about this mask does the elbow swivel?? I like the hose going up above my head not on my chest.
