Rested Gal & others,

Which version of the F & P 150 humidifier do you recommend - the one with temporary or permanent reservoirs?

Hi Yoga,

I'm not sure what the difference is between "temporary" or "permanent" water reservoirs.

The F&P heated humidifier I've always used is the HC 150 model. Has a plastic water reservoir with what appears to be an aluminum bottom in the reservoir. Came with a spare water reservoir. Do permanent ones have a stainless steel bottom, or something?

Rested Gal,

I believe what you stated is correct.

The HC100 came with a stainless steel bottomed chamber (very expensive to replace). This chamber is the HC300. They do last a long time if treated well. This is also called the 'permanent' chamber.

The HC150 (differs from the HC100 by the inclusion of ambient tracking feature) comes with the newer aluminium based water containers (HC325).

Out of curiosity I just swapped the HC300 (stainless steel container) on a HC100 with a HC325 aluminium bottomed container on a HC150. They appear to be interchangeable. The HC325 is called a 'disposable' container.

The big issue then is the price. I believe the HC300 is about $US110 & the HC325 about $US19.

If you can afford the stainless steel bottomed HC300 container go for it. As said they are well made, clean up ok & should last a very long time.
