Get the PR System One PRO.
Comes with SD card for the data. If your computer has a SD slot on it then nothing else is needed. If no SD slot then you need a SD card reader but any generic card reader will work. Walmart $10 or so.

Software is Windows based software so if you use a Mac, then you must set up Windows environment.

64 bit computers can be problematic for EncoreViewer 2.0 $99 this is the patient version of the software.

Encore Pro 2.4xx is the clinic version of the software. Bulky and full of stuff you won't ever use but it does come in 32 bit and 64 bit versions. Available from the software fairy. I can help with install hints as EncorePro is a PITA some times. Send me a PM if you wish to know more about the software.

You will want the software of some version. The information on the LED screen is very limited and doesn't tell you a whole lot compared to what the software shows.

Is this Onkor software a "good enough" alternative to the commercial product?

The online Onkor is pretty darn good.
Give me just a little while to get a couple of screen shots available so you can see what Pro shows and what Onkor shows. Will give you sort of an idea. I will send in Private message to you so as not not muddle up this thread.
Then you can decide which you want to use.

It will take a few minutes to get images uploaded and compose something to you.
