APAP

Choosing the Intellipap Auto machine for my snoring/apnea. Will this machine and the datapack basically allow me (with manual/customer support/internet) to arrive at my own Rx so that I won't be tied to an MD/RT? I've never done a sleep study. Don't want to or plan to. I know I snore badly and likely have apnea based on eye-witness accounts. If the data from this machine will allow me to largely be my own therapist I'd be ecstatic. I'm going to buy it myself and not even bother with the insurance and redtape. Let me know if you think I'm unlikely to succeed with this approach and/or with this particular machine. I've really enjoyed your wonderful forum and info. Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.

Bingo. Thanks for that. Great thread. I know this is science but it isn't rocket science. I went from reading Windows for Dummies to building my own computers in 2 years. I can do this. Thanks again for the help.

But you will need a Rx to buy the Intellipap, unless you find it used from a person selling one.

I wouldn't get to hung up on the software really at this point.

Also, you can definitely purchase used CPAPs and APAPs through dealers on the Internet. One such dealer I have used in the past is SecondWind CPAP. Just search for this company to get to it's website. When you purchase the APAP from them you will also have to purchase the headgear and mask and hose in addition. You can call them and speak with someone that cares and will give you the information you are looking for. They won't steer you wrong.
