I wash them daily with plain tap and baby shampoo, blow them dry with my cpap and never a problem. In fact, just swapped nasal seals after 9 months of usage.

It vents out the top, and is one of the friendliest masks I've ever encountered.

The only one in my house who objects to it is Shadow, my standard longhaired dachshund, who tries to wrap himself around my head and objects to the air jet in his ears.

My husband, a non-CPAPer, but with full beard and handlebar moustache, tried my Comfortlite 2 mask. It doesn't vent out the front, but he said it worked great, since, like the Headrest, it's an "over the top" mask. He's never complained about it when I wear it, either.

For those who are getting their Headrest seals to last so long - do you wash them every day?

I don't. I rarely (months and months go by) ever wash the seal. I'll swipe the outside of the nasal pillows with a damp cloth every few days, but that's the extent of "cleaning" I do to mine. Been using my current seal for about a year now, no signs of needing to change it.

However, even if I were cleaning the seal every day -- with soap and water or vinegar, whatever -- I would NOT remove the seal from where it attaches to the headgear. Frequent turning to take the seal assembly off and put it back on again would wear out that connection eventually, even if the nasal pillows "seal" part still had plenty of life left in it. I'd leave the seal assembly attached to the headgear all the time. I could still clean the seal with it attached. If I were so inclined.

If a person absolutely was bound and determined to "clean" the pillows assembly every day, but treated it reasonably gently during cleaning, I'd think the Headrest's nasal seal could stand up well to a daily cleaning regimen. The material the pillows are made of is comfortably "smushy" yet seems very durable. If the person just couldn't resist removing the seal from the headgear attachment EVERY day (or very often) I'd think the connection would be the part that would wear out much sooner than frequently cleaned pillows ever would.

does anyone know best way [ or if there is a way] to recondition pillows

I have only a couple left - but have 10 or so old yellowed ones

curious if anyone has tried-- I remember reading somewhere about hot or boiling water and baking soda or???

I have tried the airfit mask and it is pretty good but I still like the old twilight np the best

The boiling baking soda trick works well for cloudiness but I didn't have much luck with it removing yellowing from overall aging.

Also since my water here is pretty hard I had much better luck when I used distilled water for the boiling and the rinsing. Here's one of the original threads about the boiling/baking soda trick.

Apart from being a bit ugly...the yellowing doesn't really hurt the overall performance though.
You might try with just one and see how much life it brings back into the pillows and maybe you will have better luck with the yellowing than I did.

I still use the Aeiomed headrest and stocked up before they went out of business.

I have a number of them brand new / sealed - I use the Large pillow if anyone still has any new / sealed Larges and want to trade for my mediums in same condition.
