Hi Folks,

Well, the Tech couldn't unzip the zip file of the sd card i sent her on friday, saying she would send it to the lab next door and "get back to me"! Obviously after a nice long weekend. Are there really people who dont know how to unzip a folder? Do you think they have heard of Google?

So I decided to try a settings change after reviewing all your kind advice, and input 6 min, 14 max (14 as from the graphs i always pull the mask off before that anyway).

This morning i reviewed the data and find that the CAs had increased visibly, pushing up the AHI to over 12. I also have a sore throat (minor) from the extra air pressure. I seem intolerant to the higher pressures. Could it be that an increase from 4 to 6 min could increase the CAs? It seems so from the data. If so should i reduce the min back down to 4, and reduce the max down to 8? Or is that totally wrong?

The graphs are below:

With a mix of central and obstructive apneas you need a machine designed specifically to treat mixed apnea. Call your doctor Monday morning for a serious discussion. They should have told you from the home study that you were having central apneas.

I'm coming in late on the subject, and may be way off base, but, first, a while back, I remember reading 'leaking out and blowing in my eyes' which is definitely a mask fitting problem, maybe you don't have the right size, or don't have it on tight enough (no, it shouldn't be TIGHT, but, if air is blowing out under it, it's too loose.) If your mouth is dry, you're opening your mouth while you sleep, and thus totally defeating the CPAP. if you're nose/throat is dry, you need a humidifier, or need to turn it up.. you might need to get a CFLEX or CFLEX+ machine (or turn it on if you have one), that lowers the pressure when you're breathing OUT to make it easier. When it's hard to breath out, your brain tends to think there's a reason, and doesn't bother trying. when i turned on CFLEX+ on mine (just playing one day to see what it would be like), I noticed I had no more CA's... so, I left it that way, and that seems to be the case....
now, of course, I don't have SEVERE Apnea, my pressure is set at 11.5, and my AHI is only .4 ? maybe. So you're situation might not work exactly as mine, but I do know that looking at the leak level, when it goes up on my mask, my OA's, and RE's get worse....
