ComfortGel vs. ComfortGel Blue

Post by archangle » Mon Apr 11, 2011 1:17 pm

The ComfortGel mask is now becoming the ComfortGel Blue.

I recently got a ComfortGel Blue and can compare it to the original ComfortGel.

The blue frame has a perforated exhaust port with 54 small holes. The old design has a slot.

The forehead cushion is a different design. Look up the pictures, but I'd describe it as a softer, more molded design.

There are several differences in the cushion.

Comfort Gel cushion
Darker Blue
Maybe a little thicker and gooier. (Maybe)
Has a little ridge or flap on the inside of the cushion where it touches your skin.
Has a thin hard plastic ring molded where it attaches to the mask frame.

Comfort Gel Blue cushion
No hard plastic ring. The flange that attaches to the mask frame is a flexible rubbery plastic.
The clear plastic extends 1/4 inch or so out from the frame.
No internal flap

Both apparently have some sort of gel inside a flexible plastic skin.

The ComfortGel blue cushions and flaps are compatible with the ComfortGel masks. The part number on the flaps seems to be the same.

I didn't notice any big difference while using them. The new mask may be a little quieter.
