Since masks are so expensive you might do better if you have something to trade or offer to pay a nominal fee.

I purchased many masks from cpapauction so that I could try different masks as our DME did not offer trial periods (or at least won't admit to it). I traded some masks here on the forum, sending a mask that didn't work for me in trade of one I wanted to try.

Good luck on finding what you are looking for.

Thanks Carol, I have nothing to trade because I'm a new cpap user 2 weeks new. I do not have a collection of any Cpap stuff. I'd delete my post but I can't figure out how to.

Don't worry about it. Explain what is bothering about your mask and we might be able to help with it.

Since you have only been on cpap for 2 weeks you might want to broaden your search of masks. Instead of limiting your choices to the sleepweaver or the Swift be open to trying other masks. I bet some of us might have some that you might be able to get. Do you have any idea what size you might need?

I have a fisher and Paykel Zest. I have gotten bruises under my nose from the mask. I called the company and they suggested that I try another mask.
I tried to get input from others here but no one will comment. I do not know what to try next because this was my first mask.

Most rookie CPAPer know almost nothing about masks. Let them come back after 6 months. Even then the different morphologies of persons' faces, the large types of masks and the myriad of sizes make the whole thing a wishful thinking (i.e. waste of time).

Yes I know.... Why can't they just have 1 perfect mask that perfectly fits faces of all sizes. Having so many choices makes it harder for me to choose. Every mask will have pros and cons I know.

my first mask was a Zest and I had the same issue with sore/bruising under my nose. I ended up getting the Petite size mask and find that is MUCH better. I have tried a few masks but never lasted a night with them and kept going back to the zest. Maybe you need a different size? it also sounds to me like you might have it pulled too tight? My pressure setting is 18 and my mask is quite loose but once I lie down and turn it on it doesn't leak. Oh, I also had to adjust the headgear using hair ties to shorten the vertical straps at the back of the head to make it sit better on MY head.

I try not to tighten the mask too tight because I'll end up with a headache. That thing leaks the minute I move it leaks air into my eye when I switch positions. So I'm adjusting it all night. I have the Standard size Zest and the mask itself rests on my top lip So I have the bruising just above my top lip but under my nose. I do clean my mask everyday as well.

Does anyone have the information handy about the mask trial going around? I remember seeing something about it but it has been too long and I don't know what to look for. Dane or somebody was handling it at SleepnationTV was it?

This might be an option for Pillowtoss to get in on so she can try some other masks.

How about the mask trial that the guy from sleepnationtv.com is handling.

Shipping costs is better than masks costs.

All I know is the stuff in that thread link I posted. I do believe there was some initial discussion about it when Dane offered to be the person responsible for keeping all that organized. I didn't pay particular attention because I had no need. I think he bills a paypal account or something similar with shipping costs, then the mask gets shipped.
Not sure what he might have available or if stuff is being returned. That has been the problem in the past when people tried to keep the masks going around for trial, someone keeps it and it gets lost.

Does anyone know the particulars to participate in this mask trial program?

i had the same issue with the zest resting on the top lip and blowing air into my eyes and honestly it was the mask was too big. Now I would NEVER normally think I would need a "petite" size in anything, but for this mask I do.

I hope you are able to find another mask that suits you better

Thanks for the reminder Pugsy. I had forgotten all about that trial. It is reasonable in cost and a good option for those needing to try different masks.
