Hello all!
I've just completed my first week on apap. I really can't complain too much. I have gotten 4 -5 hrs. of quality sleep each night. Could have been much worse right? I tried the Swift FX but felt like the nose pillows moved around too much when
I was breathing causing me to panic and then the anxiety rush kept me up for an hour or so each time. So I have now switched to the SleepWeaver mask and I love it, BUT after using it for the past 2 nights I have waken up 2 - 3 times each night and I have ripped it off at some point and I don't even know I've done it. Any suggestions - other than duck tape??
I've been lurking on this site all week and you've all taught me bunches of things, so I just wanted to say THANKS!!!

Re: Help - newbie advice needed
For most of us, the mask is the key to getting it "right".
For myself, I tried a lot of masks to find the one that I use consistently. I tried nasal masks, pillows, prongs, full face masks.
I am not familiar with the Sleepweaver except what I have read here. Many find that it isn't the mask for them, yet others find it comfortable and the right mask for them. Depending upon the material it is made from you might try Mack's silicone ear plugs. Roll into a long "snake" rope and press against the edges of the mask, then when you put it on press lightly to your face to seal it. Others with more experience with this mask hopefully maybe of a lot more assistance.

I had the same problem. I could go to sleep just fine but would wake up at some point to discover that I had ripped off my mask without realizing it. I think patience might be the key. I have slept the last few nights with the mask, or in my case nasal pillows, on ALL night! I'm even out of town right now in a strange bed and I STILL kept it on. I think I might be getting the hang of this. I hope everything works out for you.

Duct tape. That would keep it on for sure. How about a less sticky tape? Just enough to prod yourself into waking up enough to stop removing the mask? It is common for a person to remove the mask and not realize it. Especially when just starting therapy.Feelnbetter wrote:Any suggestions - other than duck tape??
