I am deciding on a new machine. I have a Tank Respironics Auto, a M Series Auto (Respironic), and they are both okay but not great. And neither travels well since they are either too big or have a large power brick.
I have an option to get a used s8 autoset II. I have a few questions about it.
1. What do people who have owned one think of it? How easy is it to use? Quiet? Works well?
2. I want to be able to record and output full data. What extra things would I need to purchase in order to do this? (Card, card reader, software?) I have a smart card reader that I use with my Respironics machines. I don't know if that's compatible.
3. Would this make a reasonable travel machine? (I know it doesn't have a power brick).
My other main option is the Intellipap auto, which would be more expensive.
Thanks for the help.

My understanding is that there is very little difference between the S8 II and the S8. I had two S8s, an Elite and an AutoSet Vantage (same as the S8 II AutoSet) and LOVED both of them. Both were great to travel with, only 2 pieces: PAP and humidifier. I suppose we have to count the cord (w/NO power brick just so it doesn't get forgotten and left behind). When I was switched to a bi-level I INSISTED on the Resmed S8 VPAP Auto.
The only drawback is it is getting difficult to find the proprietary card reader cable. Software is no problem and proprietary data cards are still pretty much available via the internet, e-Bay, etc.

My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.
