A few questions
I've read most of the posts and haven't seen anything relating to alcohol and cpap.......Would drinking tend to jeopardize the treatment of the cpap???? When I was diagnosed with OSA I had been sober for 2 years and this lasted until just a few months ago....For the life of me I don't know why I started drinking off and on again, perhaps it's because I am now retired and "bored", or just plain lonely wanting to interact with other people.....Another problem I've had just the last few months is some mornings when I wake up and remove my headgear I have a hard time catching my breath and tend to over-breathe for a few seconds.....A couple of weeks ago I had a sinus infection and was very congested and started hyperventilating.....I finally went to the doctor and did get some antibiotics and an inhaler.....Thanks for any information anyone may have....GINNY
Thanks for the information.........I had to laugh when you said in time I would learn the "dos and don'ts".........I may sound like a new user but I've been on the cpap for over 7 yrs. now!!!! But, I must admit, I've learned more from this message board than I've learned from any doctors or any of the people I deal with at the medical supply places........I did ask a woman when I got my last mask (about 10 days ago) about waking up feeling like I can't catch my breath and she said "Well, that's pretty normal.....After all, you've had air flowing through your nose all night long and it may take a few minutes to adjust to not having the mask on".......
