Small victories vs. the detestable machine

Post by McSnoresalot » Wed Mar 23, 2011 11:42 am

Gotta take the long view with the Facehugger - every minute I can keep that thing strapped on is another victory in what appears to be developing into an epic struggle.......

Slowly, the average amount of time is increasing - couple steps forward, one step back, getting close to 5 hr/night with it on.

Started a mask collection - got a Ultra Mirage FF off of Craigslist, marginal results with it so far. Should be getting one of those fabric Sleepweaver masks off of Cpap.com this week. Need to find something that is easier to side sleep/facedown sleep - Nasal pillow set up is next.

My mask collection now numbers 12. I started with full face masks then tried nasal and realized I could train myself to breath through my nose if it meant being able to sleep. Then I tried an Opus 360 nasal pillows mask. And not only did it not leak but it was much more comfortable to sleep with. So I'm sold on nasal pillow masks. I wish the sleep lab had gotten me started on them, I could have avoided the hundreds of dollars I spent on all those masks.

Take heart Mcsnoresalot, soon Facehugger will bend to your will and become your new best friend. I only have 3 masks, Quatro, Quatro FX and FX, I do like the FX for face planting in the pillows, but do OK with the others. Sometimes you just need a change. It took a while for me and the Alien Baby to get along well, but now I wouldn't want to get rid of her, him , it . Kathy
Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.
