Sleep, Memory Loss, Dementia (via CNN)

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

Thanks for posting this!

The more I learn about sleep and the impact of sleep deprivation, the more I wonder about how many problems we may be attributing to other causes when chronic sleep deprivation may be a major player/contributor or the real cause.

So that's what's wrong with me. I'm demented.

My uncle began cpap therapy a few years ago after missing the door when pulling into his garage. My guess is he fell asleep behind the wheel once he was safely off the road. When he told me about this, I said he was lucky we're more aware of sleep apnea now. Years ago, they'd probably have given his car keys to his children and told them he was too senile to drive anymore. But with cpap, he's still charging around in his Corvette, and I don't think he's any more of hazard than he was at 30.
