hello fellow users!
as of this morning i am ten days in and i am wondering if anyone has experienced these two issues:the very first time i used my cpap i slept over 12 hrs and didn't really want to get up at that point. but.....had to go to work so i reluctantly got up. i was completely out of it the whole day [felt like everything was in slow motion] and only wanted to go back to sleep. i have been careful to set two alarms now to make sure i do not oversleep but i am still TIRED all the time. when am i going to feel better???
the second issue is that i had quite a bit of edema in my feet & ankles for about a week.
has anyone out there experienced these problems?
THANKS !
chrispy

Called sleep debt. Your body wants O2 and REM to catch up.
Please fill in your equipment in the user control panel (Upper left hand side of the screen)
What does you data say - assuming you have a data capable machine and weren't sold a cheap brick to maximize the DME's profits?

My sleep study showed I was experiencing severe desaturations ("desats") when I slept because of my severe apnea. My doctor cautioned me that "It takes a long time for someone to come back from desats as severe as you were experiencing." I have about 5 weeks of machine use under my belt (all night, every night) and can say that I feel a little better almost every day. I was also REM sleep deprived and started experiencing something called "REM rebound"--(noted in the second night of my sleep study when they started titrating my pressure)--fancy name for lots and lots of dreams. You may notice this too.
Can't comment on the edema. You might want to ask your doc about that.
