DME erased my EncorePro card?
Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
You might try using the MyCPAP utility, it has a reformat option. I had a card mthat lost it's formating and would not record data but I think when I tried to read it it gave me an error message that said it was not a compatible smartcard. Just a thought.

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
EncorePro doesn't seem to be able to capture the waveform data if you wait too long (even if your machine is capable of capturing the data--you can't get waveform reports at all out of the older Respironics machines). I started using my CPAP on 2/17. I acquired EncorePro on 2/28 and immediately downloaded all the data. I was able to retrieve waveform reports for 2/26 and 2/27. There are at least two possibilities that spring to mind:
(1) The waveform reports on the SD card get overwritten after 48 hours because they are really big (seems unlikely, the memory on the card is nowhere near full);
(2) The earlier waveform data is still on the SD card but didn't get transferred over.
I have yet to go into Windows Explorer and looked at the SD card to see what all is actually on it in the way of files. That might be an interesting experiment for me to do next. EDITED TO ADD: This thread on Respironics file formats may be of interest: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55722&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=005+file
When I went to see my sleep doc after one month he took my machine and looked at the data that way. He never removed the SD card.

Encore Pro can't capture what isn't there for Mr Bill and myself. Our machines simply do not gather waveform of data. It was only the new PR S1 machines that started offering waveform data.Drowsy Dancer wrote:EncorePro doesn't seem to be able to capture the waveform data if you wait too long

Point well-taken. I will amend my original post to allow for that fact.Pugsy wrote:Encore Pro can't capture what isn't there for Mr Bill and myself. I know with so many people using the new machines they don't know that those of us with the prior model do not have the same data nor do we use the SD cards.Drowsy Dancer wrote:Point well-taken. I will amend my original post to allow for that fact.
We don't get CA or RE charted either. Bummer but back when I got this machine it was the "top of the line" in Respironics APAPs and I had VS and other brands didn't.. One of these days I will get the new PR S1 and satisfy my curiosity.

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
Well, what Pugsy said is pretty much correct. The card collected data from last night just fine. However, I now have a new session in Encore View starting with last night. I can look at the previous data or the new data but not both together. I wonder if the card got formatted or something. The old session ends 3/17/11 and the new session begins 3/19/11 and the 3/18 data is gone. Oh well, live and learn.

Oh, one last thing; can I go into my DME and put the previous two months of old compliance data on the card then carry it home and add it to my encore view data set?

Sounds sort of like they have breath traces but I don't see any way to see them. Maybe that only applies to System 1.Encore Data Management and Reporting
On-board memory has been added to the BiPAP as well as storing information on an Encore SmartCard. Use EncorePro Software to monitor therapy effectiveness through a series of reports. A new Patient Flow and Event report enables users to view a weekly breakdown on per-breath basis. Patient data is used to identify particular conditions and events with specific colors.

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
I do not know. There are export features in Pro but I don't know if it will write to the smart card or not. I would assume it could to the new SD cards but that is an assumption. Once the card gets erased I guess it formats the whole thing and that is why the choice in Pro to return card to patient to keep the data flowing, erase card might be useful if the were going to keep the card and give it to next victim.Mr Bill wrote:Oh, one last thing; can I go into my DME and put the previous two months of old compliance data on the card then carry it home and add it to my encore view data set?
If I have time today I will poke around and see if there is a way. I have the smart card in my back up machine that I can play around with.

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
At least it was your DME, in my case I was being an idiot that day and installed a new version of the software and forgot to tell it not to erase. Now I get to explain to the doc when they see no compliance data.

Doubt that they will really care at this point but you can always just take a hard copy of the summary data that was downloaded.
Would save them from having to go to the trouble to read the card should they want to.

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
I just am really puzzled why the one day did not even write to the card. Isn't it supposed to still be on the machine?

Re: DME erased my EncorePro card?
You would think it would have at least put the summary data on it.
Though I do remember back when I first started I used to have times where I had zero data showing like I hadn't used the machine and I knew full well the card was in properly and I did use the machine. Several of us used to see this happen on occasion.
I know that I had to wait for a bit before trying to see the data off the card or it sometimes gave me no new data. Never could figure out how long I was supposed to wait but it might have something to do with the machine using GMT time. Maybe those other times you had card out and put card in you just happened to be within the right time frame.... I always left the card in though because I was told that without card in the machine it wouldn't write the data to the card like ResMed machines would. At least that was what I was told and so I always left it in.
I know it bugs you but I can't offer any concrete suggestion. No time today to play with smart cards yet. Sorry.
