Pillows for full face mask

Post by ambills » Thu Mar 17, 2011 10:40 am

Hi all:

First time poster - 2 week CPAP user. I'm recently diagnosed and enjoying pretty great success with S9 elite and Comfort Gel full fase nasal mask. The only thing I truly miss about "before" is getting all snuggled down in my pillow to go to sleep. (I'm a side sleeper, almost exclusively) I'm pondering a new pillow to help make room for the mask and thought I'd ask for some suggestions on what has worked best for you. I have some allergies to down, but otherwise, I'm good with most other fibers / fillings.
I keep learning the hard way, the only thing I can hope to control is myself. So the rest of you are on your own!

My DME is selling CPAPillows that have part of the side cut out to fit a mask. Didn't check the price.

Have you tried sleeping at the edge of your current pillow with the mask past the edge?

I tried sleeping off the edge of my pillow when I first started too, now I just snuggle down in the middle of my pillow and sleep. Obus form firm pillow and mirage ultra or mirage quattro full face masks. No problems its all what you get used to.

Yes, I sleep with my mask hanging off the pillow. It's okay, I'm sleeping, but I laid down without the mask to talk with my hubby last night and realized how much I miss the "ease" of that moment. But, I'm not going to trade that for the good sleep I've been getting since starting on the machine. Just wondering what everyone else does .....
