Sounds like you got more variety in advice than you suspected. Did we understand your question? Actually I am surprised that no Greek specialist title has been coined to go with "apnea, hypopnea, and laryngeal dystrophy".
Well, here is another angle that maybe hasn't been mentioned.

If you get the right diagnosis and the right treatment, then you don't need to worry about your choice. But what if you are a somewhat less then easy case ... like so many forum participants ... and you don't find your "miracle solution" right away? And if you saw how many different PSG reports, and different physician and DME therapies you could end up with?

Whether you're new to Sleep Apnea, or looking for an alternate team ... you may be aware how multi-disciplinary it is. And beware of the sleep doctor who branched over from one primary specialty and has little knowledge or interest in complications arising from another direction. Or one who suggests surgery before exhausting other solutions.
[if you don't mind some crude analogies: would you take a mysterious car problem to a shop doing only tire changes ... or if you wanted your house remodeled, would you trust it to a carpet salesman? ... or if you needed legal counsel for a complex environmental pollution complaint, would you pick a divorce lawyer? ]

Therefore, living in a larger city, I have chosen a sleep medicine group whose members represent several disciplines, and who claim to discuss the cases among themselves. I have looked at their publications, also have called and talked to the sleep techs; have also asked DME suppliers who they work with.
