Got a lung infection? Avoid some antibiotics...

Post by dllfo » Wed Mar 09, 2011 10:29 pm

Cipro and Levaquin have been given to me for several of my lung infections over the last few years and I use a Corticosteroid inhaler. When you combine these meds your chances of causing damage to your tendons increase several fold.

I pulled my right bicep off the bone last October 4th. Got to checking on it and found the above information. Here is a link for you to look at. As some of the people who have been on here awhile can tell you, my case is not the norm, but if it happened to me, it certainly can happen to you.

Here is a list of the antibiotics: http://www.emedexpert.com/lists/antibiotics.shtml#5

They can't sew my muscle back to the bone because the incremental degree of functionality achieved through surgery would not be worth the risk my respiratory system would not make it through the sedation.

Be your own best advocate. No one else will do it for you.
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

Known problem with the quinolone family of antibiotics. More often, it's the achilles tendon that pops.

Dllfo,

Thanks for the warning. I had never heard of such a thing happening. I'm so sorry that it happened to you.

Keep breathing, buddy,
