Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Go to clinicalsleep.com, they are in B.C. Just bought an Ultra Mirage ffm for $175 & free shipping. They do not have alot of prices quoted on the web site but you just ask them for a quote and they will comply within 24 hours, so far I've had quotes within a couple of hours. Anything to save $$$ in Canada is good with me. I do not work nor have relatives working for them.

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Thanks for the info Nan, I have never bought anything from them. But in a couple if cases they had given me prices lower than the DMEs here in Montreal and once they send me free filters for my S8.
Information for the Montrealers: the top of the unbelievable; 2 weeks ago I triend to buy a System one humidifier here. I called at Vitalair (I don't know if they are in all the provinces) and they refused to sell one to me beucause I haven't bough the machine to them.
When I started telling the lady how shameful was the company's politics she said she didn't had a code to order the humidifier and that was the reason, I have my doubts about it. Any way... If ever I buy a machine or a mask here in Montreal it won't be at Vitalair I tell you.

Yes they are really bad. If I want to buy filters from them then I have to make an appointment - they have a store front in the mall Alexis Neon but they won't serve you if you walk in unless you make a big fuss.rosacer wrote:Thanks for the info Nan, I have never bought anything from them. 36901 H5i w/ cleanable tub
36802 H5i water tub (standard)
36800 H5i water tub (cleanable)

Hope this helps.

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
As a fellow Montrealer, I would highly recommend clinical sleep, especially for Resmed products since our host is prohibited from shipping Resmed products to Canadians (as you know).
I no longer buy stuff from my DME (Biron), definitely too expensive and I have to make an appointment to see them. As they are open after 5 pm (after work) once per week, I often have to wait at least a week before I can get what I need. Definitely not worth it.

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Has anyone bought an xpap from clinicalsleep.com? I'm curious about how their prices compare to US mail-order. What about their prices on other supplies such as hoses and filters?
I've found that cpap.com gives we Canadians excellent service. However, they are hampered by shipping costs to Canada (no "free" shipments to Canada) and, of course, Resmed's anti-competition policies.

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Interesting comments about Vitalaire. I suspect that they are not the only Canadian DME who act this way. A sale to a walk-in customer who knows exactly what he/she wants is probably the easiest sale a company will ever make. I really do not understand why any retailer would discourage it.

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Thanks jdm for the info but what she was talking about was a number they have in their inventory system from their company.
This is a crazy thing, she said because I have not bought the machine to theme they couldn't grant the guarantee, I never said a word about guarantee and on top of that what about if I have bought the machine at Vitalaire more than 2 years ago? Are they going to tell me look you need to buy a new machine because your guarantee is expired and we don't have a number to order a new humidifier?, simply stupid.
I need to say that Biron told me they where ready to sell one to me, I needed to go to a place in East Montreal (I don't remember the name right now), they where supposed to have it an nobody told a word about the need of an appointment maybe that was a las minute surprise LOL. The price $225 plus Tx. This is really something, but at least I would have been able to buy it.
Thanks guys for the hints.

All you have to do is ask for a quote, thats what I did. Plus It was cheaper (no shipping) and Plus it was a Resmed mask, and plus it won't take 3 weeks to get it in my hot little hands, I should have it in about a week.
Cheers

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
Well last year I bought a Hybrid from cpap.com and i had it within 3 business days. I was shocked when I got the knock on the door. But what with the shipping, currency exchange and all that it was about the same price as clinicalsleep.nanwilson wrote: Hose head

And that's exactly what I've just done. I won't quote their prices here, but I will advise that they are VERY competitive on some machines and masks , not so competitive on others.nanwilson wrote:Hose headHose_Head wrote:Has anyone bought an xpap from clinicalsleep.com? If their service is good, then there's every reason for me to send some of my business their way.
This is good news. For the three years that I've been on the hose I've been looking for a competitive Canadian retailer. It looks as though I may have just found one!
I'm workin' on it.

Hosehead
You are welcome. We do indeed need to stick together to get the best prices and service. I will still check out cpap.com and compare prices, but since I have no insurance and have to pay everything myself.................. cheapest price and best service wins my hard fought for $$$$$$.
Cheers

Re: Cheapest place in Canada to buy cpap supplies, etc.
HI everyone. I wil make the disclaimer that i am a rt who works at clinical sleep in vancouver.. I have been visiting cpap talk for some time and i am always so impressed with how the site works and how much care and knowledge is shared between the users.. Its nice to hear that there is some interest in our site. One of the reasons we started the site was it seemed crazy that there wasn't a canadian option for people who go online for there cpap supplies , even more now with some limitations on suppliers not shippping to canada. We are trying to run the site as we do our locations here in vancouver, with great support and follow up and competative prices. It still boggles my mind the difference in follow up and service between companies here in the lower mainland.. i imagine it it the same all across canada. Online is a little different in Canada, the manufacturers wont let us put price on the site so we do quotes for our supplies( we have all the brands). CPAP masks are a little tough online unless you know the mask you reallly like , its a bit of a challenge trying new masks out and you do need to sleep on them to really know if it works. Machines are a bigger purchase but most of the new models are really good now and that isn't the most important thing anyways(( mask , mask , mask) its not rocket science, i say its nose science--ha. We have reviews on most of the new product out there and will have some more stuff up soon.. we do some video tutuorials as well. Bottom line is trust is a huge issue with cpapers, it doesn't happen overnight but we intend to be here for a long time so we are happy to start the process with anybody who wants to try.. if anyone has questions about anything please feel free to drop me a line. --but when i look at the level of knowledge out there on this forum i may be out of a job-ha. take care and have a great sleep tonight. Steve
