ResMed S9 heated hose shenanigans

I use a hose hanger. Lifts the hose out of my way while sleeping.
I can toss and turn all night long and never have to worry about the hose needing to be tossed or turned. LOL
You should look into the hanger. You will never have a stream of water in your face and with the heated hose -
no rain out. You just need to let the hose air out during the day so I unplug my stuff and let the hose hang while not using it.

I don't have the climate line hose, but my slimline hose was splitting near the cuff within 4 days of use.

Make it a point to only remove and install the climate line tubing by holding the harder rubber end. If you pull on the hose itself it will cause damage.
My unit won't start when the humidifier door is mot locked. I use a hose hanger which raises the hose about 2 feet above the bed. Cpap and I have been together for a little over 3 months. a pressure of 14. No rainout so far.

I taped the shit out of my climateline hose ends because I knew they were garbage (I got it free, I wouldn't buy known garbage).

Broken in 3 weeks, under where the tape was, and I was careful with use etc.

Resmed should be ashamed, I'll be writing them to tell them what i REALLY think

I was very gentle with removing the hose and only touched the hard, rubber part. Didn't matter.

My slimline lasted about 8 months before a slit occurred right near the cuff, as Uncle_Bob and others had talked about on the board.......the tape worked like a charm to correct the situation without any further problems.

Just an FYI------Mine has the option for Slimline or regular hose if the Climate hose is not attached.

OMG.. As a new cpap user I wasn't warned about overfilling the tank. I had water everwhere when I turned the machine on! Live and learn I guess.

Plenty of people have problems with rainout on many models of CPAP machine even if they don't overfill the tank. A heated hose serves a very useful function for them. No hanky panky with squirrely humdifiers is needed to sell them.

The DME was probably gushing about how great the heated hose is because it's a high profit item.

Have any other S9 users noticed that filling the humidifier full causes extra water in the hose?

Yes, my humidifier is pretty sensitive in terms of filling it. If I go even a tiny bit (1/8th inch or less) above the max line it sprays down into the hose.

Climateline continues to be wonderful. No problems. No rainout.

FWIW, the tape referred to in an earlier post is "Rescue Tape". It's a self-sealing, elastic silicone tape. Available at your local hardware and at amazon.com.
