Need help - how (or where to find) setting cms on PB318

Post by dsm » Thu Dec 15, 2005 8:17 pm

Hi all,

Haven't fallen off the planet, just been very busy with a major project.

On one machine I obtained I can't seem to figure out how to change CMS settings on. This is the PB318. When pulled apart I see lots of old style components (what we used to call discreet components - resistors, capacitors etc:). My description of the insides is "built like a Panzer Tank - looks like one too" - big heavy & a real workhorse.

If anyone knows or can steer me to where I can find out pls post a reply or PM me.

Cheers & thanks

What are cms settings ? The pressure indicator adjustment. I think its done on the keypad like the 420E.

CMS is the way pressure is described on xPap machines. Pressure is not measured in PSI (pounds per Square Inch). 15cms means that the machine at that setting can push water up a tube to a height of 15 cms.

The PB318 has two buttons on the back that look like they are for raising or lowering settings for cms (of H2O) and also the ramp settings (low cms & time). The thing I can't figure out is what activates the setting mode. I worked out how to do it on the Polaris ISP9800. Just haven't achieved that understanding on the PB318.

Usually it involves switching the machine on with particular buttons held down or just holding ceratin buttons down. the PB420S has a hidden button used to activate clinical mode.

Cheers DSM

Am still stuck on this problem. Am open to any suggestions as to where else I might ask the question.

Am keen to show I can adjust this old PB318 workhorse.

It is so old that the hours of useage (15500 for this old donkey) show on a mechanical set or turning dials like an old car speedometer
