Jerry, I'm going to ask you an obvious question, so please don't take offense.
When you deleted your first avatar, you had to check the "delete avatar" box. That box isn't still checked is it? Actually, I don't know if that box is still there once you delete the avatar, and I'm not going to test on my own after all the trouble you've had .

server issue.
I'm pretty sure the current avatar flap is not related to "operator error", i.e. I don't think any combination of pushing buttons or uploading of files of various types and sizes has anything to do with the missing avatars. Note that the file properties of the avatar are defined (right-click on the red X), the red X appears because the browser cannot locate the file. That suggests a server setup / data management issue. If you in fact delete the avatar, there is no red X. The graphic files are not located or named where the browser is trying to find them. That's all. Nothing you or I can do about it.
(It's tempting to suppose some avatars are so BAAAAAAAAAD that they break the server, like some pictures used to break the camera. Just a thought.)
I'd be curious to know if ANYBODY who has updated the avatar in the last week or so has been successful. I'm guessing not. The answer probably lies in the php scripts / tables that run this bb. Nothing we are doing wrong.
Try pressing <enter> with your LEFT pinky, sometimes that helps.
(sorry, help-desk refugee here)

He who dies with the most masks wins.
Re: server issue.
Ric, No. Never been nearer the North Pole than N.Y. City, and I didn't stay any longer than I had to.Ric wrote:I'm pretty sure the current avatar flap is not related to "operator error", i.e. I don't think any combination of pushing buttons or uploading of files of various types and sizes has anything to do with the missing avatars. Yep, the problem with avatars has got to be something like you said..maybe exactly like you said. I see Rested Gal has lost hers, now. Soon we'll be a board without avatars.

'Delete Image'
Linda, the 'Delete Image [avatar]' doesn't stay checked. But, you can click on it to delete the red 'x' that pops up in place of your avatar, if you try to change your avatar. Better not mess with it because you will lose it.Linda3032 wrote:Jerry, I'm going to ask you an obvious question, so please don't take offense.
