PE Tubes and CPAP

Post by drj130 » Wed Mar 02, 2011 1:08 pm

As most of you all know, I've got these strange leaks that are not able to be accounted for. I went and seen my Sleep Doctor today as well as my ENT (I had a cleft pallet when I was born) and during my visit with The Sleep Doctor, he asked if I had tube(s). When that came up, it lead me to ask if the tube(s) / hole in one of my drums could be the source of the strange leaks. He didn't have an answer nor did my ENT when I asked him.

So I'm throwing this out to you all, could this be possible? I did search the board and found the following topics:
viewtopic/t37821/Ear-Tubes-and-CPAP.html
And:
viewtopic/t36326/Ear-tubes-with-cpap.html

I wasn't able to find much else about this. Searching the web brings up a lot of results, but none that address this.

Well when I learned ear candling one of the teachers was able to suck the smoke out of her ears and blow it out of her nose due to the same ear issues as a child.

One thing that I forgot to add was that my ENT will be having me get some custom molded ear plugs made. I wonder how hard that will make it to hear my alarm now.

I might scare my wife now with all this stuff that I'm adding to my sleep routine. I'm sure she'll be as loving as always.

I heard that the tubes usually fell out once a child had grown some, making their passageways large enough.
Of course, that could be optimistic doctors talking

In most cases, tubes are a temporary thing. In cases like mine, when they fixed the pallet, they crushed the natural tubes, so now I'll have to have them for life, else I'll go deaf from fluid build up.

I have tubes in both of my ears right now. ENT said that mine will eventually work their way out. I'm guessing from past experience that one is... the pain's about the same as when he said that one was working it's way out before.

This is round 2 of tubes for me.

No extra leakage.
