alternative to Nonin pulse/oximeter
alternative to Nonin pulse/oximeter
Is there a good, economic alternative pulse/oximeter for use with the Intellipap Smart Link Module?

Most of us are using the CMS models.... they are inexpensive, come with software, and are quite accurate. Here is a good vendor with great prices: http://www.pulseoxstore.com/Downloadable-Pulse-Ox.html
While these will not integrate with SmartLink software, the data reports from these oximeters are excellent and easily correlates with your therapy data.

Mine cost $234 so its slightly more. Looks like the CMS-50F but instead of lithium rechargeable, uses two AAA batteries. I reviewed it at Amazon where I bought it. The software that comes with mine does not plot the waveform of the individual pulses. Sampling rate choices are 8, 4, and 1 per second. This unit also does not interface with any CPAP unit that I know of.
EPAP min=6, EPAP max=15, PS min=3, PS max=12, Max Pressure=30, Backup Rate=8 bpm, Flex=0, Rise Time=1,
90% EPAP=7.0, Avg PS=4.0, Avg bpm 18.3, Avg Min vent 9.2 Lpm, Avg CA/OA/H/AHI = 0.1/0.1/2.1/2.3 ... updated 02/17/12

Thanks Mr Bill and Emilia. It looks like the CMS50D Plus will fit my needs and pocketbook.
By the way Emilia, I love the pic of your cat. I have an American short-hair that is 14, very vocal, and a lot of fun, but he doesn't have those beautiful blue eyes.
