Before increasing the maximum check your leak rate (I don't see it mentioned anywhere in your comments).
If the pressure is bumping 9 much of the night look to see if the leak rate line is also jumping around. If it is, need to work on the leak before increasing the max. The higher pressure could be coming from the machine trying to "chase the leak" and maintain pressure.

You don't indicate leaks which 'might' be cause for pressure of 9. I would stay the course for now, not change any settings and monitor data [including leaks].
