Question About Resmed HumidAire 2i Humidifier

I've have my Resmed Humidifer and CPAP for about 15 months now. My question is - there is a piece of soft plastic on the inside of the lid of the humidifier. Is it normal for this piece of soft plastic to turn yellow? And if so, how would one clean it up? And is it replaceable?

You can order one....not to sure of the cost though...
