Reading your post made me smile too. And NOT because I am happy you had a bad night. It is just comforting somehow to know that other people have THOSE nights too. For me most nights are fine, routine, everything is as it should be. Then, out of nowhere, for no apparent reason, comes one of THOSE nights when nothing works, the d*** thing will not seal, sounds like a flatulent whale, feels like straps are digging into my scalp, blows air in my right eye..well, you get the picture. Sometimes THOSE nights run in packs of two or three and I get out of bed, go into the bathroom, turn the light on and examine my face and head carefully to see if the whole shape of my head has changed without my noticing. So far, that has not been the case.

I am sorry you had a bad night-- but so well described... I'm afraid that by the end of your post I was laughing. So thanks for that.

Re: Just a whine/blatant bid for sympathy
Sounds like my last few nights. I've had my machine for 1 week now...first 2 nights I slept great. Last few, awful. I, too have been moving the straps, adjusting the nose pillows, catching my hair in the velcrow in the middle of the night. Then I woke up to a "blast" of cold air. I finally called the DME today and he thought the humidifier may need to be turned up. I was assuming that what I was setting, was for the amount of humidity. He made it sound like I've been adjusting the heat. I guess I need more education...am going to try some different pillows on Saturday. I keep fiddling around with them all night. They keep moving out of position...Will I ever get used to this or better yet, some sleep?
Let's hope we all have a great night!

Hi Catnap
What a night, and it wasn't getting any better
Assuming you did not want to put on the light in case your brain thought it was time to get up, may I suggest you keep a pair of sunglasses next to your bed. When trouble starts, and you need light - presumably with your mask off - just put on your sunglasses and turn on the light.
So you can then see what you are doing, and your brain will still think it is sleep time.
Alternatively, you could have a blue light next to your bed.
No guarantee with any of this stuff, but your story touched me, and I wanted to try and help somehow .
I hope your animals are still talking to you.
cheers

Thanks, everyone, for cheering me up about my bad night. I knew I could count on this crew to understand! Mars, I like that blue light idea...I definitely would have tried it the other night. I think my Swift FX will arrive today, and I'm looking forward to trying it. I'll post here once I know which pillows I don't need.
Thank you again and Happy Valentine's Day to all!
